On Friday my squad and I were notified that we would be returning home as soon as possible due to the impact of the Corona virus.

By 2pm yesterday we were on a plane heading to New York.

I am currently planning on returning to Eau Claire within the next few weeks, but I am unsure of what the future will hold as far as the race is concerned. We don’t yet know if we will have the opportunity to complete our travels at a later date, or if this is a permanent conclusion to our race.

Please pray for myself and my squad as we process this turn of events and transition into life in the states.

Overall I have been feeling okay about coming home early. I figure the Lord knew from the moment that I applied to the race what would happen this month, and that helps me to be at peace with it… even if the logistical details of such an abrupt transition feel a little overwhelming. I find myself living in expectation that the Lord will do beautiful things in the weeks to come. May he work in me and through me even more beautifully in the USA than he did during my time abroad.

  1. I love your comment that the Lord will do beautiful things in the months and weeks to come.
It is so encouraging in the face of the upending things of the coronavirus, not to mention Gramps bypass surgery and recovery. So I am applying that truth to those challenges right now, as well! He’s got this……..for each one of us!!!
