Greetings friends and family. I want to share with you a small sample of the blessings the Lord has provided in this season of fundraising! There are an abundance of short stories, encouraging words, and big moments that have so touched my heart and spurred me on. Many of you have been a part of these; and for that I thank you!

Below are just four of the many testimonies…

Double Day

I was having a rough day spiritually and emotionally, but I pulled up my blog in the afternoon. I was surprised to see that my funds had almost doubled from $1,500 to $3,000 overnight! I was so encouraged by the Lord and his timing. It was a great reminder of his faithfulness.

Tech Time

In preparing for the race I’ve looked at several different packing lists. Often the lists were overwhelming to me. One day in particular I was reviewing packing suggestions from an alumni racer. She suggested bringing several different technological devices that I do not own. I was struck by how much money it would be to purchase all of the items on her list. I mentioned it to the Lord and told him something like, “Lord, if it is pleasing to you to provide some of these items that would be really cool. If not, I can make do without.” Since that time I have been gifted an IPOD and a small digital camera, and I have a lead on at least one other item on the list. I feel so blessed that the Lord cares not only about my needs, but my wants as well.

Shopping Support

If you know me, you know that I tend to be a detail person. As such, the idea of shopping for items like a tent and a hiking backpack was a bit stressful for me. I mean seriously… just think about all of those specifications, product reviews, and decisions! Not to mention, I know very little about outdoor equipment. Imagine my gratefulness when my brother and sister-in-law (who have extensive experience working with outdoor recreation equipment) offered to pay for and shop for the major items on my list (plus some!). Such a load off of my plate in this preparation stage! Both financially and emotionally!

Home Hugs

Speaking at the church I grew up in has been a highlight in this whole process. I was able to share my heart behind the race and connect with many people that have taught me and cheered for me. I so appreciated the hugs, the words of affirmation, and the sincere interest and excitement in this journey that was shown. I love them so much, and to hear and see that they are behind me in this was truly priceless. To Living Hope, thank you for affirming me, for teaching me about Jesus in my young years, for supporting me on my first-ever missions trip in high school, and for welcoming me home when I visit. Thank you for being the body.

Praise be to the Lord who knows just what I need and when I need it! I hope you are encouraged by these stories like I am. I am so thankful for his blessings in this season, and am grateful for those who have encouraged and supported me in both big and small ways (like reading my blog!).

Blessings.

One response to “Testimonies”

  1. What great stories of how God has been providing for you! These you will cherish all your life and be able to look back on during dry seasons. What a great testimony for others to also step out in faith to trust God. When we choose to trust, God does show up in miraculous ways! Ps 37:4 – Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart!
