Sometimes in life, we fall down.
And it hurts.
I did that these past two weeks. I got wrapped up in old thought patterns that drug me down to a place that I didn’t want to be in. It sucked the life out of me and hindered my ability to love and care for those around me.
And that really stinks.
Especially, when one of the main goals of the World Race is to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
But thanks be to God that he longs to be gracious to us (Is 30:18). When we are down in the muck and mire… even there God will meet us. He will rise up to show us compassion (Is 30:18).
Our struggles and our sin do not define us. Nor do they hinder the Lord. He is the mighty one who prevails. He draws us out. He lifts us up. He is a redeemer without rival.
So it is, that in the wake of mentally dark days, I can lift my head and say… “My Jesus lives and so do I. There is life and light for me. And I will keep walking forward with the lover of my soul.”
Thanks for sharing this. Your transparency and honesty is encouraging. Keep your head up and thanks be to God for His patience and love towards us.
I love your will to always bring the darkness to light .
You’re such a fighter! Very strategic and smart, you’re an overcomer and a Victor!
Also, you’re so deeply known and loved by the Lord it’s immeasurable.
Romans 8:38-39
Hope you are out of the muck and walking in the light of Jesus. Old thought patterns get us all sometimes but grateful we can fight them and you did! Where are you while crossing that bridge? It’s a great picture and shows your adventuresome side and your trust in Christ. That ravine is just beautiful!
Yes, he is so good to us! I’ve often gone back to read Psalm 23 while on the race. It’s so rich, and I’m glad for the reminder that his goodness and mercy follows me.
I’m actually not sure what city the bridge is in. Our host took us on a tour of Kosovo and it was one of several stops that we made. I’ve been wanting to walk a suspension bridge for awhile, so it was a special experience for me.
Thanks friend. He really does know us and love us so well!
