Hello! The following is a little bit about me and my story…

Ice Breaker Details

I grew up in the excellent state of Wisconsin spending much of my time enjoying the outdoors with my parents and siblings. I enjoyed it and my family so much that I stayed close to my roots and still reside about an hour away from my childhood hometown.

I currently work at a warehouse and really enjoy my job. Working with my hands and seeing the direct results of my labor is very rewarding to me, not to mention the fact that I have great co-workers and supervisors. The way I do my job is also a good expression of some of the things that I value, such as putting forth my best effort, paying attention to detail, and serving others.

When I’m not at work I like to spend time with friends, color, make crafts, and go thrift shopping. These hobbies go well with the joy that I find in gift giving.

Walking with Jesus

Throughout my life the Lord has blessed me with many positive places to grow and feel at home. From my early years being home-schooled by my mom, memorizing verses, starting the day with Bible time, and being encouraged to read scripture for myself – to my college years being involved in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship – the Lord has consistently provided me with a good foundation and people to pour into my life. My parents’ early involvement with active participation in church, sending me to Arrowhead Bible Camp, and overall spurring me on toward the Lord has produced fruit that I am so thankful for.

Through camp, I learned about the importance of community and my propensity towards service. These things, along with the steady theme of the importance of God’s word, have been positive markers as I’ve gotten older. In addition, it was through Arrowhead that I went on my first missions trip and developed a soft place in my heart for both missions and camping ministry.

These themes (service, community involvement, and the study of scripture) were also supported by my participation in Intervarsity during my college years. Moreover, through Intervarsity I started to grow in an understanding of racial diversity and social justice.

Since leaving college, the Lord has been faithful to gently lead me and grow me through both joyful times and trying and difficult situations. He’s taught me that he is intimately involved in my everyday and that the Holy Spirit is alive and active. He’s shown me that when I take risks, he shows up. When I am weary, he sustains. When I am grieving, he provides. I have seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

In this season, he’s also grown me in the ability to be vulnerable, the willingness to ask for help, and the wisdom to make decisions that help me live well in the day to day.

The ways that the Lord has been intimately involved in my life are part of the reason that I am looking forward to the world race. I’m looking forward to knowing him more, to seeing more of what he is up to, and to being available for how he wants to grow me and stretch me. I’m looking forward to seeing depths of his goodness that I have not yet seen.

Please join me in praying that he would use me, grow me, and show me more of himself through this trip… both in the preparation stage and abroad.

Thank you for being interested in this new chapter in my story.
